What's the difference
between AKC & CKC?
AKC

AKC stands for American Kennel Club and was founded
in 1884.  This type of registration is ideal if you are
interested in competitively showing your puppy, or in
having AKC registered off-spring.

In order to have AKC registered pups, both the Sire and
the Dam must be registered through AKC.  My Sire, Tag,
is double registered with both AKC & CKC; thus being
able to have both AKC & CKC registered off-spring.

CKC

CKC stands for Continental Kennel Club.  Established in
1991, and although a relative newcomer, CKC has
moved into the position as one of the largest canine
registries, with hundreds of thousands of new
registrations each year.  This type of registration is
appropriate for puppies that will become a family
companion.  CKC registration is suitable for showing
that the puppy is purebred , additionally, any of it's
off-spring may also be registered under CKC.
